Tom Sermanni Fired as Head Coach of US Women's National Team

Although there was a win in his last match, Tom Sermanni was removed as head coach of the U.S. women's national soccer team. Soccer analyst, Ives Galarcept, said that Sermanni was expecting to be part of the future. Whoever the next coach is will have pleasure to become the next coach of the team. The next coach will have only one year to prepare for the World Cup. The next coach will have brief time to do a new method and find the best way to win.

This event doesn't really have to do with any of my classes. The only class I can think that this article relates to is gym. I took gym in my freshman year and I think this article relates to gym because it's a sport. This sport keeps people fit. I feel that this event doesn't affect me. I think it would affect the people that love soccer. Since the soccer team is having a new coach, it's going to affect them greatly. They're probably going to do more techniques or do things differently than what they did when their old coach used to train them.

The central idea of this passage is to inform readers that the head coach of the national soccer team was fired. Throughout the passage, the author uses a few quotes to demonstrate that people had different opinions on this topic. The author let the reader know that Ives Galarcept stated that "Sermanni was handling #USWNT job like a coach who fully expected to be around, experimenting w/players & formations year before World Cup." Many people where surprised that he was fired. As the quote said, even the coach expected to be around in the future. The fact that Ives Galarcept said that Sermanni was experimenting with players and formation year before the World Cup makes readers think he might of been a good coach. Galacept took the time to describe reasons that many people didn't think this was going to happen.  Many people were glad that he was fired. Steven Goff pointed out that Sermanni offered "no direction, no vision, nothing." I guess many people thought that it was time for a new coach. The methods that this coach was using apparently weren't wroking since some people were dissattisfied.  The author wanted to show the reader the diffent opinions that people had about Sermanni being fired.
